[Problem] There is demand for chip resistors that are compact and have high resistivity. [Solution] This chip resistor (100) has: a substrate (11); a first connection electrode (12) and a second connection electrode (13) that are formed on the substrate (11); and a resistance network that is formed on the substrate (11), and is connected to the first connection electrode (12) at one end while connected to the second connection electrode (13) at the other end. The resistance network is equipped with a resistance circuit. The resistance circuit has resistor film lines (103) that are provided along inner wall surfaces of trenches (101). The resistor film lines (103), which extend along the inner wall surfaces of the trenches (101), are long, and each resistor film line has a high resistivity as a unit resistor. [Effect] The resistivity of the chip resistor (100) as a whole can be increased.
