This current sensor has a magnetoelectric conversion element (20), and a magnetic field collecting core (30), which applies a magnetic field to the magnetoelectric conversion element (20), said magnetic field having been generated from a current to be measured. In the magnetic field collecting core (30), a shape of a plane orthogonally intersecting the current flow direction is annular having a gap. The magnetoelectric conversion element (20) is disposed in the gap. A part of a conductor (90) having a current flowing therein is surrounded by the magnetic field collecting core (30). The magnetic field collecting core (30) is formed by alternately laminating two first magnetic members (31) and at least one second magnetic member (32) in the current flow direction. Respective parts of the two first magnetic members (31) face each other with a gap or an insulator therebetween, said two first magnetic members being adjacent to each other with the one second magnetic member (32) therebetween.
