The device (26) has a frame (30) that supports a prehension arm (32) supporting an object (8) to be displaced. The frame supports a driving unit (36) that displaces the arm such that an opening (19) of the object is displaced along an initial trajectory portion, along a direction that is perpendicular to a support area (28) and oriented in a direction opposite to the area. The opening is displaced along a curve which passes via a point of a trajectory of a base of the object, after passage of the base in the point. An independent claim is also included for a printing machine comprising a transfer device.
