<p>Gas lift pump apparatus 150 comprising a column 160 having an upright portion 195L through which a liquid medium is pumped by gas lift and a fluid delivery device 100 for delivering a flow of a gaseous fluid into the column at a first location of the column, wherein the column comprises a lift portion 160UP having a continuous unperforated wall and a perforated portion 160P having a perforated wall; the fluid delivery device being operable to deliver the flow of gaseous fluid into the lift portion before it rises to the perforated portion. The apparatus may also comprise a sonic energy generator operable to launch sonic energy into a liquid medium flowing through the column and a bubble generator to provide gas bubbles in liquid in the column, where the apparatus is operable to subject the bubbles to sonic energy generated by the sonic energy generator.</p> |
