PURPOSE: A navigation device with a route change function and a method thereof are provided to change a guidance route for making a vehicle advance to a direction where a user desires at an intersection so that the user is guided along a desired route. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device with a route change function comprises a display unit (100), a coordinate receiving unit (200), a map storage unit (300), and a control unit (400). The display unit displays route guide images. The coordinate receiving unit receives the coordination information of a location of a vehicle. The map storage unit stores map images for guiding a route. The control unit searches routes to a destination, sets a route as a guide route, and outputs the set guide route and a current location of the vehicle to the display unit by indicating the same on the map images.
