REFINING APPARATUS OF SILICON MELT

PURPOSE: A refining apparatus of molten silicon is provided to facilitate separation of slag with high specific gravity and molten silicon with relatively low specific gravity by a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION: A refining apparatus of molten silicon contains a crucible (5) which accommodates molten silicon (3), an induction coil (1), and a direct current magnet (2). The induction coil encircles surroundings of the crucible and heats molten silicon in the crucible. The direct current magnet grants a direct current magnetic field which is vertical to a gravity direction in molten silicon accommodated in the crucible. The direct current magnet is an electromagnet. The intensity of a magnetic field is 3000-5000 gauss.
