<p>The sensor (10) has a light transmitter (14) for emitting a light beam (20), and a light receiver (18) for converting the received light beam into an electrical receiving signal. An evaluation unit (26) determines whether an object is located in the light beam. The transmitting signal is formed by summation of partial signals, which correspond to a part end signal. The part end signal is modulated in carriers that are orthogonal to each other. The evaluation unit determines whether the light beam is received or not after demodulation of the partial signals in carrier frequency proportions. An independent claim is also included for an object optical detection method.</p> |
