PURPOSE: A multi-view generation method and an apparatus thereof are provided to restore a hole inside an output view by generating and using a reference viewpoint layer, thereby improving a spatial consistency among output views that have different output views from each other. CONSTITUTION: An image processing device generates a reference viewpoint view corresponding to a reference viewpoint by using one input view of a current frame, and generates an initial reference viewpoint layer of the current frame (320,330). The image processing device generates a reference viewpoint layer of the current frame (340). The image processing device generates an output viewpoint image by using at least one input view (350).
