METHOD OF CRYSTALLIZING LSRK AND CRYSTAL THEREOF

PURPOSE: An LsrK crystal and a crystallization method are provided to understand the three-dimensional structure of LsrK which plays a role in bacterial quorum sensing signal transduction. CONSTITUTION: An LsrK crystal is a space group P3 and contains LsrK protein and HPr protein in an asymmetry unit. The unit of lattice has a = 100 angstrom, b=100 angstrom, and c = 353 angstrom and the angle is alpha=beta=90 degrees and gamma=120 degrees. A method for crystallizing LsrK comprises the steps of: preparing an LsrK storage solution containing 5-20 mg/ml of LsrK which is dispersed; mixing the LsrK storage solution and a crystallization buffer solution to obtain a mixture drop; and placing the mixture drop for steam diffusion equilibrium between containers containing the mixture drop and the crystallization buffer.
