PURPOSE: A slidable and elastic expansion joint device and method are provided to prevent the damage of an expansion joint by reinforcing the expansion joint and to induce the stable expansion and contraction of a slab. CONSTITUTION: A slidable and elastic expansion joint device comprises a slide joint (10), a finishing material (40), a filling layer, and an elastic layer (20). The slide joint is installed in an expansion joint part in between neighboring slabs and slides. The elastic layer forms a road surface on the top of the slide joint at the same height as first and second paving layers (1b,2b). The slide joint comprises first and second bottom fixing plates (11,12), and a slid plate (13). The first and second bottom fixing plates comprises first and second slide protrusion (11a,12a) with dovetail cross sections. |
