PURPOSE: A backlight uint and a liquid crystal display device are provided to improve an assembly property of the backlight unit without an extra fixing member by being equipped with a first fixing portion and a second fixing portion which are bound with a main support and a light guide plate on a flexible printed circuit board of a light source unit. CONSTITUTION: A light source unit (150) is populated on a flexible printed circuit board [FPCB] with certain interval. A light guide plate converts a point light into a surface light being arranged side by side with the light source unit. The light source unit and the light guide plate are stored in a main support (180). A fixing portion (12) is fixed with the main support being equipped in one side of the FPCB. A second fixing portion (125) is fixed with the light guide plate being equipped in the other side of the FPCB.
