PURPOSE: A vehicle control system having an automatic fare collection device anti-dismantling function and a method for preventing dismantling of an automatic fare collection device using the same are provided to prevent illegal toll collection by stopping the function of the automatic fare collection device, by comparing a vehicle identification number (VIN) stored in an electronic control unit (ECU) with a vehicle identification number stored in the automatic fare collection device (ETCS). CONSTITUTION: A vehicle control system (100) having an automatic fare collection device anti-dismantling function includes an automatic fare collection terminal (120) and an electronic control unit (ECU) (111). The automatic fare collection terminal stores a vehicle identification number (VIN) given to a user vehicle to collect toll from a vehicle passing through a toll gate, and performs electronic toll collection (ETC) service. The ECU stores the vehicle identification number, and controls the state of the vehicle using a computer. The vehicle control system receives the vehicle identification number stored in the electronic control unit through vehicle internal communication, and judges whether to stop the function of the automatic fare collection terminal by comparing the received vehicle identification number with the vehicle identification number stored in the automatic fare collection terminal.
