PURPOSE: A device and a method for connecting a pipe are provided to prevent the damage of a connecting part due to the pressure when being buried on the ground or an underground tunnel and to prevent the groundwater from flowing in the connecting part. CONSTITUTION: A device for connecting a pipe comprises first and second pipes (P1,P2), a shrinkable casing (C), a first welding mesh band (B1), and a second welding mesh band (B2). The shrinkable casing connects a first pipe and a second pipe to surround the end of the first and second pipes with both ends. The first welding mesh band is positioned between one end of the shrinkable casing and the end of the first pipe and parts of the shrinkable casing and the first pipe is mutually melted to surround. The second welding mesh band is surrounded by parts of the shrinkable casing and the second pipe through being melted.
