PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a lead-free speed-cutting steel wire rod is provided to secure a wire rod with superior surface quality by properly controlling the wire rod rolling condition of a lead-free speed cutting steel billet. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a lead-free speed-cutting steel wire rod comprises heating, rough milling, intermediate rough milling, intermediate finish milling, and finish milling of a lead-free speed-cutting steel billet. In the finish milling, the rolling reduction ratio at the final stand of a finishing mill is controlled to obtain a material discharge speed difference of 4.7(m/s) at the final stand and the accumulated strain per second of less than 4.1. |
