Liquid to be sprayed is fed to a chamber 1 in a gun body 3, and passes under the control of a disc-valve 17 through a bore 18 to a spring nozzle, and a Bourdon tube 30 within the chamber responds to the air supplied to the gun to control the valve. The spray nozzle comprises inner and outer members 10 and 8 respectively between which atomizing air flows to the spraying tip. The air is fed to a passage 22 in the gun body, and a proportion of it flows through a passage 26 to the interior of the Bourdon tube; the deflecting end of the tube is coupled by a pivoted link 33 to a link 35 pivoted at 36, and normally supports the valve 17 in the closed position. When air at a predetermined pressure is fed to the gun the Bourdon tube deflects and withdraws the valve from its seating and allows liquid to pass through a passage 19 and orifice 20 to the spraying tip. Instead of a disc valve, a ball or needle valve may be used. |
