PURPOSE: A production method of aluminum chloride from sludge in a water purification plant is provided to produce aluminum chloride recycling sludge in a purification plant at low reaction temperature and within short reaction time by making aluminum in sludge of the purification plant to react with hydrochloric acid. CONSTITUTION: A production method of aluminum chloride from sludge in a purification plant includes the following steps; (a) sludge from the purification plant is dried naturally or at 90-100 degreeC; (b) hydrochloric acid with 0.3-15 ml is mixed per 1g of the sludge, the mixture is heated to be 50-100 degreeC, and the heated mixture is reacted for 1-2 hours; (c) the supernatant containing aluminum chloride generated from (b) is filtered and the extract of the produced aluminum chloride is transferred to a storage tank; and (d) phosphorous is removed injecting the extract of the produced aluminum chloride into discharge water of sewage. In a hydrochloric solution in (b) step, volume ratio of hydrochloric acid and water was 2-2.5:1. Aluminum content of the produced aluminum chloride (AlCl3) is 1-15 weight% based on oxidized aluminum (Al2O3). |
