PURPOSE: A hydrodynamic bearing assembly and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the abrasion caused by the friction between a fixed member and a rotation member as a nitride coating film is formed on at least a surface of one of the fixed member and rotation member. CONSTITUTION: A hydrodynamic bearing assembly includes an oil sealing unit (16) and a nitride coating film. The oil sealing unit is formed between a fixed member and a rotation member. The nitride coating film is formed on at least a surface of one of the fixed member and rotation member. The thickness of the nitride coating film is 1-5 micrometer.
