[Class 12 (i)] In a combined cage and outer race for the rollers 19 of a bearing formed by two telescoped cylindrical shells 10, 13, force fitted together, one end of the outer shell 10 is outwardly flanged at 16 to facilitate and to effect location on assembly. The other end is inwardly flanged at 11 with a further inturned axial flange 12 to retain the reduced ends 18 of the rollers 19. At this end the inner shell 13 abuts the flange 11 and at the other end has a complementary radial flange 14 and an aligned axial flange 15. The bearing is driven into its housing 17 by a mandrel (not shown) having a shoulder of complementary shape to the flanges 14, 15, 16. |
