PURPOSE: An ultraviolet light emitting device is provided to improve light extraction efficiency by maximizing the lateral volume of a light emitting structure. CONSTITUTION: A substrate includes a first region and a second region. A light emitting structure (20) is formed in the second region of a first substrate. The light emitting structure includes horizontal structures (35a-35e) and vertical structures (37a-37d) connecting the horizontal structures. A first electrode (21,23) is formed in the first area of the substrate. A second electrode (33) is formed under the horizontal structures.
