PURPOSE: An object labeling apparatus and a method within a new image which uses the parallel processing are provided to use a multi core processor, which is equipped in a GPU of a compute unified device architecture (CUDA) method, to process the eight directions connected-component labeling in a plurality of pixel in parallel, thereby remarkably and rapidly improving the processing time of the connected-component labeling. CONSTITUTION: For each pixel of an input image, a pixel value setting module (120) sets the pixel value 1 in a foreground pixel and the pixel value 0 in a background pixel. A labeling module (130) performs the labeling of each pixel. A parallel CCL module (140) contrasts a labeling value of the foreground pixel, which is selected among the labeling pixels, with a labeling value of the foreground pixel among the surrounding eight directions in parallel. With the smallest labeling value, the parallel CCL module includes the foreground pixel and the connected component labeling of the surrounding eight directions in parallel.
