PURPOSE: A data communication method between devices using an earphone jack is provided to communicate with an external PC or a server through the earphone jack, thereby simplifying the configuration of an internal circuit in a mobile terminal without a general connector. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal(100), which includes an earphone jack, is connected to an external device(200) by using an earphone jack(210). The portable terminal outputs commands by using a predetermined frequency band. Information, which is processed by the external device receiving the commands, is transmitted through the frequency band and is stored in the portable terminal. The external device includes a weight sensor, a temperature sensor, a heartbeat sensor, a blood glucose monitoring device, or a camera.
