PURPOSE: A heating method of steel materials for improving surface quality is provided to enhance surface quality after descaling by controlling the operational conditions of a heating furnace according to the content of Cu and Si. CONSTITUTION: A heating method of steel materials for improving surface quality is as follows. In case that the Cu content of steel materials is 0.03-0.2 wt.%, a heating furnace is maintained within 1050-1170°C. In case of 0.2-0.4wt.% of the Cu content, the steel materials are heated in the heating furnace while the temperature and content of Cu and Si satisfy the equation of 460ΔTempeature×[Cu]/[Si]Δ2500. The steel materials are composed of .03-0.5 wt.% of C, 0.03-0.5 wt.% of Si, 0.03-0.4 wt.% of Cu, and the rest of Fe and other impurities. |
