PURPOSE: An icebreaker having a bulbous bow is provided to improve fuel efficiency by reducing power loss through the reduction of wave drag and to rapidly and safely navigate the frozen sea using an icebreaking bow. CONSTITUTION: An icebreaker (10) having a bulbous bow comprises a bulbous bow (100). The bulbous bow is installed in a housing space (11) formed on the inner bottom of the bow of the icebreaker. The bulbous bow is protruded to the bow of the icebreaker when the ship navigates the normal sea area and is received in the housing space when the ship travels on the frozen sea area.
