PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce direct current afterimages persisting on a liquid crystal display by applying common voltage and data voltage equally during vertical blank periods. CONSTITUTION: A data driving circuit (120) includes an output circuit. The output circuit includes a data voltage output unit and a common voltage output unit. The data voltage output unit outputs data voltage during an active period while outputting ground voltage during a first vertical blank period and a second vertical blank period, two pauses followed by and following the active period respectively. The common voltage output unit outputs direct current common voltage during the active period while outputting the ground voltage during the first and second vertical blank periods.
