PURPOSE: A propulsion device and a ship with the same are provided to improve propulsion efficiency because the pitch angle of propeller wings is controlled by reflecting inflow speed variation of fluid according to the rotational angles of a propeller. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion device for a ship comprises a propeller shaft, a propeller hub(32), propeller wings(34), and a pitch varying part. One end of the propeller shaft is outwardly protruded through a boss of a ship. A hollow part is formed inside the propeller hub. The propeller hub is coupled at one end of the propeller shaft. The end of the propeller wings is rotatably inserted in the propeller hub. The pitch varying part is interposed between the end of the propeller wings and the propeller shaft and controls the pitch angle of the propeller wings by rotating the propeller hub. |
