PURPOSE: An apparatus for sterilizing ballast water and a vessel including the same are provided to sterilize ballast water containing microorganisms without a separate treatment facility. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for sterilizing ballast water includes a ballast tank(110), an exhaust pipe(120), a ballast water sterilizing chamber(130), a ballast water sterilizing unit, a sediment treatment unit(140), and a feedback line(160). The ballast water sterilizing chamber is in connection with the ballast tank through a ballast water transferring pipe(170). The ballast water sterilizing bath sprays ballast water to exhaust gas in order to sterilize the ballast water by the waste heat of the exhaust gas. The sediment treatment unit separates and treats sediment of ballast water which is settled on the inner bottom of the ballast water sterilizing chamber. The feedback line transfers separated ballast water from sediment sludge to the ballast tank. |
