PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner is provided to efficiently prevent a filter from blocking by storing the dust in a centrifugal separating unit. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner comprises an electric blower (31), a centrifugal separating unit, a filter, a dust detecting unit, and a control member (34). The centrifugal separating unit communicates a suction unit of the electric blower and collects the dust by separating from the inhaling air including the dust. The filter is positioned between the suction unit and the centrifugal separating unit. The dust detecting unit is positioned between the filter and the centrifugal separating unit and detects the amount of the dust. The control member controls to lower the input of the electric blower when the amount of the dust which is detected by the dust detecting unit is greater than the predetermined amount.
