PURPOSE: A method for generating a catalog of material used in offshore plant construction is provided to decrease work time remarkably, by generating the catalog for material shape before modeling automatically. CONSTITUTION: Material brings in material specification from pipe material specification database, and necessary material data is searched in the material database and is classified by driving piping material class (PMC). Data of required material among the classified material is gathered and stored per field. An option item is defined for the material data gathered and stored per field. Specification of the material data is checked, and a catalog and a specification file for the material data are generated and are stored in a 3D model database. The catalog stored in the 3D model data is tested and modeled.
