PURPOSE: A contents providing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to provide supplementary information appropriately to the progress sequence of the contents to a user. CONSTITUTION: A collecting unit (110) collects supplementary information in correspondence to specific contents. A generating unit (150) checks play time information of the specific contents at the time when the supplementary information is collected. The generating unit generates supplementary information-inserted-contents by synchronizing the collected supplementary information to the specific contents. A display unit (180) displays the generated supplementary information-inserted-contents.
