The invention is a method for removing contaminates known as angelhair, streamers, or snakeskin from plastic pellets. Plastic pellets containing the contaminate are drawn into the machine by pneumatic conveyance to a pipe at the input end of the machine. Contained inside an airtight housing, is a drum that is positioned on a horizontal axis supported on wheels that are driven by a motor. The drum has a multitude of pegs inside it, pointing inward. As the plastic pellets move through the rotating drum the pegs remove the contaminate. As the trapped contaminate is carried to the apex of the rotation it falls from the pegs onto a tray that is positioned lengthwise through the center of the drum. The tray ends in a receptacle that receives the contaminate. The tray slopes toward the receptacle and the contaminate is conveyed by vibration. A pipe entering the machine from the exterior at the output end of the machine is where the cleaned pellets are removed.
