The block has rollers (133, 134) fixed at a portable unit (131) of a fuel pump (13) or at a camshaft (12), which is provided with a cam that is fixed at the portable unit. The rollers are supported on a bearing surface (122A) of an axial transmission cam (122) of the camshaft. The bearing surface is shaped to impart a reciprocating translation movement of the portable unit along an axis (X) through the rollers upon rotational movement of the camshaft along the axis. The portable unit is slidably connected with respect to a fixed element (132) of the fuel pump along the axis.
