598834 Prevention, treatment and diagnosis of P. gingivalis infection Provided is a chimeric or fusion protein for inducing an immune response to P. gingivalis comprising a first peptide of about 5 to about 40 amino acids joined directly or through a linker to a second polypeptide, wherein said first peptide comprises a region of a P. gingivalis trypsin-like enzyme with a specified sequence (KAS4, KAS5, or KAS6); and (ii) part or all of a sequence that is the same as or at least 90% identical to the sequence RAS4 or RAS5, wherein said region of said trypsin-like enzyme is capable of inducing an immune response against P. gingivalis.
