The method involves providing a set of reliefs (511) that projects from a surface of a metal frame (501) that is parallel to an axis of rotation of a bearing (4) on a portion of circumference of the metal frame. An insert (503) is overmolded on the metal frame. A gasket (50) is mounted in the bearing by elastic deformation of the reliefs that are allowed to protrude. The reliefs are allowed to protrude such that the reliefs are inserted into a peripheral groove (440) of a ring (44) on which the gasket is fixed in an undeformed state. An independent claim is also included for a rotary device.
