The assembly has a prosthetic femoral stem (1) comprising a female engagement cavity (2) to receive a prosthetic cervix. A gripper (6) comprises connection units (7) that are designed for fixing the connection units on the proximal gripping end of the temporary insert in which the proximal end exceeds out of the female cavity to allow fixing of the gripper when the insert is fixed in the female cavity.
