The bearing system (100) has a support (101) provided with housing to receive a pivot system (105). The pivot system includes a pivot module (109) in which a shank of a staff (103) is inserted. Elastic units (107) i.e. membrane springs, allow suspended mounting of the pivot module and exertion of an axial force on the pivot module. The elastic units are made of metal, metal alloy, amorphous metal alloy, polymers, charged polymers, polycrystalline ceramic or single-crystal ceramic.
