The method involves acquiring two couple images of scenes (A1, A2, B1, B2) by an imager. Alignment offsets between the images are calculated by correlating the images. A measurement of offset is calculated by carrying out difference between the calculated alignment offsets. A signal of disturbance of attitude of a carrier is estimated based on the measurement of offset between the images acquired by the imager. The attitude disturbance signal of the carrier is used to correct errors induced by the disturbances of attitude of the carrier in an acquired signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for estimating a digital elevation model by a stereoscopic imager mounted on a carrier subjected to disturbances in attitude during its displacement.
