PURPOSE: A controlling method of a microwave oven in case of a momentary power failure is provided to forcibly initialize a system when a system failure is judged in case the momentary power failure occurs, thereby securing stability of the microwave oven. CONSTITUTION: A controlling method of a microwave oven in case of a momentary power failure comprises the following steps. A microcomputer judges whether a system is in a power saving mode or not in case a momentary power failure occurs(S10,S20). Whether an AC current is continuously supplied for more than a predetermined time or not in case the system is in the power saving mode is determined after the judgment(S30). The system is initialized in case the AC current is supplied for more than the predetermined time(S40). The microcomputer implements a normal operation in case the AC current is continuously supplied for more than the predetermined time after judging whether the AC current is continuously supplied for more than the predetermined time or not in case the system is not in the power saving mode.
