The mechanism has a detection unit (30) recalled into a rest position by a first elastic recall unit (40) connected to a supporting unit (14) and directly/indirectly moved in a support position against a floor (4) of a vehicle. A second elastic recall unit (38) connects a hook-shaped locking unit (20) with the detection unit, and is arranged such that the detection unit drives the locking unit from its unbolted position toward its locked position via the second elastic recall unit in response to movement of the detection unit from the rest position toward the support position. The elastic recall units are traction/torsion springs.
