COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING AN EXTRACT OF DS HAVING SKIN WHITENING ACTIVITY

PURPOSE: A composition containing a complex crude drug extract of DS as an active ingredient is provided to suppress melanogenesis, tyrosinase activity, expression of TRP-1 and TRP-2 tyrosinase, and PKC-beta and MITF genes, and to be used as a composition for skin whitening and anti-wrinkling. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains 0.1-50 wt% of a crude drug extract of Angelicae gigantis radix, Bupleurum falcatum, Paeoniae radix alba, Atractylodis Rhizoma alba, Poria cocos wolf, Moutan cortex radicis, Gardeniae fructus, Glycyrrhizae radix, Menthae herba, and Zingiberis rhizoma recens in a weight ratio of 1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5:1-5, as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, C1-4 alcohols, or a mixture thereof.
