<p>The invention relates to a mould for the large-scale compression-moulding of pieces of glass fiber-reinforced polyester resins (SMC), having dimensions of up to 2m x 1m, meant for the automotive industry, railroad industry and electrical engineering. According to the invention, the mould consists of three main elements, namely: a lower mould (), a punch () and an upper mould (), said elements allowing the simultaneous manufacturing, in a single press, of two pieces having dimensions of up to 2m x 1m, of identical or different shapes but similar thicknesses, where the punch () has two active surfaces, namely a lower surface and an upper surface, and is provided with some holes wherein some resistors are introduced in order to maintain the working temperature at a constant level, as required by the technological process of SMC compression-moulding, on the edges of the active surfaces of the lower mould (), the punch () and the upper mould () there being fixed some spacers () of a certain thickness which can be replaced by other spacers having other thickness, thereby permitting the successive manufacturing of SMC parts of identical shape and different thickness by using the same mould.</p> |
