<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device capable of reducing degradation of optical performance at lower cost. <P>SOLUTION: An image projection device includes in a housing 14: an image formation unit; a first optical system 2 for forming a first projection image of an image formed by the image formation unit; and a second optical system 3 for reflecting a light bundle after formation of the first projection image so as to form a second projection image. The housing 14 includes a first opening for allowing for passage of the light bundle reflected from the second optical system 3. The first opening is positioned in a depression formed in the housing 14 and is inclined with respect to a second opening being an opening of the depression. A projection optical system including the first optical system 2 and the second optical system 3 is totally housed inside the housing 14. The inside of the housing 14 is constituted of a first portion in which the width of the housing 14 is decreased by the depression and a second portion other than the first portion.
