摘要 Method for producing an enriched DNA strand break-free spermatozoa sample of a poor quality seminal fluid, wherein in the method a selecting device which comprises two chambers and a bridge element is used and the method comprises the following steps placing a seminal fluid which comprises at least 15% oligo-, at least 32% astheno-, and/or at least 4% teratozoospermia, based on the total amount of the spermatozoa in the seminal fluid, in the first chamber of the selecting device, filling the second chamber of the selecting device with a medium for receiving DNA strand break-free spermatozoa and connecting both chambers by the bridge element such that a fluid bridge between the first and second chamber occurs which allows the DNA strand break-free spermatozoa to move from the first to the second chamber. The obtained DNA strand break-free spermatozoa sample shows a high quality and can be used in various applications. Furthermore, the present invention relates to means and methods for the reduction of the risk of congenital abnormality or aneuploidy in an artificial reproductive technology comprising the selection and/or enrichment of spermatozoa and for the selection and/or enrichment of spermatozoa that have a reduced risk of inducing or leading to a congenital abnormality or aneuploidy after in vitro fertilization.
