[Problem] To provide a function for determining, inexpensively, whether a monitoring unit should execute a self-diagnostic. [Solution] A monitoring system comprises: a monitoring unit which acquires information relating to a charge-discharge state of an accumulator device; and a determination unit which determines the charge-discharge state of the accumulator device on the basis of the information which the monitoring unit acquires. The determination unit further comprises an output unit which contiguously outputs a stepped signal, formed from a high signal and a low signal, to the monitoring unit, and, when it is assessed that the charge-discharge state of the accumulator device is within an allowable range, based on the information which is acquired from the monitoring unit, outputs a diagnostic allowance signal which is a unique stepped signal in which the period differs from before assessment. When it is assessed that the signal which is received from the determination unit is the diagnostic allowance signal, the monitoring unit executes a self-diagnostic for detecting a fault of the monitoring unit. |
