PORT VALVE OF A BLOOD CONTROL CATHETER

A catheter assembly (10) is presented which includes a catheter adapter (14) having a blood control valve. A port (50) is disposed in the catheter adapter for providing selective access to the interior of the catheter adapter. A port valve (60) is disposed within the catheter adapter to control access between the interior of the catheter adapter and the port. The port valve includes a flexible tube, a portion of the flexible tube covering an opening between the port and the catheter adapter.
