#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves heating a sensor on an operating temperature (T-b) and subsequently detecting the gas component in an operating mode. An interim operating of the sensor is provided during the heating of the sensor, while the detection of the gas component in another operating mode is carried out. The sensor is heated with reduced heating. The sensor has an electrochemical cell, where the former operating mode provides the detection of limiting current (I-g) of the electrochemical cell. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for operating a sensor, particularly an electrochemical exhaust gas sensor or an oxygen sensor, of sensor device provided with controller (all claimed) for detecting a gas component, such as nitrogen oxides, soot, carbon monoxide or hydrocarbons, in an exhaust gas tract of an internal combustion engine. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method involves interim operating of a sensor during the heating of the sensor, while the detection of the gas component in an operating mode is carried out, and hence avoids damages of a sensor and enhances its working reliability. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a graphical representation of a temperature curve in different phases of operating method. I-g : Limiting current I-p : Electric current T-b : Operating temperature T-i : Control temperature U-n : Nernst voltage. |
