<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer giving a sealant excellent in weatherability and processability when used as a sealant for solar cells. <P>SOLUTION: This polymer includes a repeating unit represented by formula (1) and a repeating unit represented by formula (2) in the main chain, and satisfies requirements (a1), (a2) and (a3). The (a1): the ratio of the number of repeating units represented by formula (2) to the total number of carbon atoms constituting the polymer main chain is 3.8-7.5%. The (a2): the ratio X represented by formula (3): X=100×A/B is 82-100%.
