<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain product being packaged in batches having a shorter longitudinal length by reducing the overall length of a tubular bag material between an aperture and a packaging machine. <P>SOLUTION: A drive assembly 17 moves a tubular bag material past a former and delivers the tubular bag material to a packaging machine.
