<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit drive of a rotary member disposed around an image carrier, in a space-saving configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The drive unit for rotatingly driving a drum-shaped image carrier, and a rotary member arranged around the image carrier includes: a drive source 52; an output gear 52a driven by the drive source; a first gear 53 being larger in diameter than the output gear and engages the output gear to be rotatingly driven thereby; a first joint member 55 projecting from the axial center of the first gear 53 coaxially in the arrangement direction of the image carrier and integrated with the rotation center of the image carrier; a second gear 54 coaxially integrated between the first gear and the first joint member and being smaller in diameter than the first gear; a driven gear 56 being smaller in diameter than the first gear, engages the second gear to be rotatingly driven thereby and disposed within a plane of the first gear; and a second joint member 57 projecting from the axial center of the driven gear coaxially in the arrangement direction of the image carrier and integrated with the rotation center of the rotary member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
