Disclosed are a method and terminal for automatic detection of a terminal frequency range setting, the method comprising: a terminal receives an instruction for setting a frequency range of the terminal, the instruction being used for instructing the terminal to set the first frequency range as the frequency range that the terminal is allowed to use; acquiring the location information corresponding to the current location of the terminal; determining a prohibited frequency range corresponding to the location information according to the frequency range setting of the terminal; judging whether the first frequency range belongs to the prohibited frequency range; if yes, then rejecting the setting corresponding to the instruction; if no, then setting the first frequency range as the frequency range that the terminal is allowed to use. The method and terminal provided in an embodiment of the present invention can prevent a user from improperly setting a terminal frequency range, thus avoiding the increase of network-side system resource consumption. |
