PURPOSE: An impedance matching device and a method thereof are provided to execute impedance matching by using a reflection signal size and a phase of a transmission signal and a reflection signal. CONSTITUTION: A directional coupler(220) outputs a reflection signal reflected from a transmission signal and an antenna. A detection unit(230) detects the size and phase of the transmission signal and the reflection signal outputted from the directional coupler. An impedance matching circuit(210) controls an impedance by using the phase and size of a reflection signal and the detected transmission signal. The detection unit includes a transmission power detection unit, a reflection power detection unit, and a phase detection unit. The phase detection unit detects a difference between the transmission signal and the reflection signal.
